Master Your Mind by Understanding How It Works

Master your mind by understanding how it works is the only way to turn your life around. Everyone says to think positively, and that is a good start, but there is more to it than that. We have one brain, but two minds, the conscious and the subconscious. The trick is to get both of them working on the same problem. It is difficult to master but possible with the right knowledge.
Only one sixth of our mind is conscious. Five sixth is subconscious. All of our programming, good memories and bad are stored in the subconscious. It has an enormous amount of intelligence. It far exceeds the conscious memory in ability. The subconscious takes its instructions from the conscious. You would think that it would be easy to get the two minds on the same page, but there is a serious problem. Understanding the mind is the key.
The subconscious part of our brain resists change. It wants to keep everything the way it is. It thinks it is that is keeping us safely in doing this. You can see the difficulty in trying to improve yourself.
We want to do things differently, to make improvements, but the subconscious will not permit it. It uses negative emotions such as fear and doubt to keep us from changing.
This part of our brain does not interpret thoughts into words, but pictures and emotions. If you recall a painful experience of the past, it will run you through all of the negative emotions you originally had. To get what you want across you have to use strong positive dominating thoughts that you have often. Master your mind by understanding it.
One big mistake many make is to continually think of what they want to avoid. The problem is that the subconscious does not know the difference between positive and negative. If you think of what you do not want, it will think it is what you want, and give you more of it. It does not judge your thoughts. It does not know the difference between real and imaginary, right and wrong, good and evil.
You can see that you have to be very careful about your thoughts and words. The subconscious is very powerful and it can do much good or bad depending on how you communicate with it. Be sure to think of what you want.
Positive affirmations repeated often can get your message across to it. Master your mind by understanding how it works.
We often have false beliefs about our ability. We think we are not good enough for success. The way to remove them is to take away the negative emotion associated with them. The first time I appeared in a high school play I was scared to death. I asked myself why I was so shook up when I knew that I could do it. I decided I was going to do the best I could and not worry about it.
I got so busy playing my part that I forgot about any fear and discovered that I had a talent for it. I had replaced my negative emotion with a positive one, and no longer have a fear of speaking in public. This is the key. Flip your negative emotions to positive and keep forcing yourself to look on the bright side.
Keep believing in yourself and your subconscious will reward you with success.
